YOU CAN KNOW GOD'S WILL

December 5, 2022

For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. 1 Corinthians 2:16 (AMPC)

I once interviewed a young woman for The Leon Show who had formerly been an atheist starting around age 10. The reason she came to the conclusion that God didn’t exist was because her three-year-old cousin had been beaten to death by the child’s stepfather. She couldn’t understand why God, who was supposed to have everything in control, wouldn’t have stopped something so horrendous from happening.

You’d be surprised how many people don’t serve God today because someone taught them that He was to blame for their heartache. Some were told that God needed another flower in Heaven when their child passed away. Others heard, “God knows best,” when their dad died of cancer. From these statements, they picked up the belief that you never can guess what kind of calamity God will bring on you next.

Actually, the Bible does not teach that God is unpredictable or that we can’t understand His ways. People misinterpret Isaiah 55:8–9, which says that God’s ways are higher than our ways. But they’re forgetting that we now have God’s Spirit inside us, leading and guiding us to understand all truth.

You have the mind of Christ. You hold the thoughts, feelings and purposes of His heart, so you can know and understand His ways. Just keep spending time with Him and continue to meditate on His Word. You can be confident in God’s will for your life today!
