THE POWER OF STUBBORN FAITH!

She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. Mark 5:27 (NLT)

There are times when we have to persevere through something even though we want to quit. Stubbornness can be an excellent quality to have—if it’s aimed in the right direction.

For example, if you’re a business owner, there have likely been numerous occasions when you’ve felt like throwing in the towel, but you got up and pushed through. Or maybe at some point in your marriage, you had to batten down the hatches and get stubborn about making it work.

When it comes to faith, the same tenacity is needed. Mark 5 tells us the story of a lady who understood this very well. She had suffered for 12 years with a debilitating condition. Unable to find relief from any doctors, she pushed desperately through the crowd to get to Jesus.

Now, had anyone discovered this woman, they would have stoned her on the spot. Why? Because her particular ailment was not allowed in public. Yet, she still risked it all to get to Jesus. And with one touch of His robe, she was instantly healed. But first she had to push through and not give up.

This woman teaches us an important lesson: regardless of your circumstances, push through to Jesus. The more problems come against you, the more you need to push into the Word. That means digging out your healing messages, plugging into a church or listening to an online service—even when it is easier not to.

There’s nothing more rewarding than pushing through to take hold of the power of God—just ask the healed lady in Mark 5!
