If you were raised in a home where you were belittled or were never told you were special, you may not understand how valuable you are. And to know God’s love, you need to recognize that you are valuable to God.
Many people mistake God’s love for the feeling they sense during emotional worship services, but it’s much more than that. Emotions are great—don’t get me wrong—but God’s love for you is much more than a feeling that comes and goes. You need to realize the depth of it: you are so valuable to God that even if you were the only person on the planet, Jesus would have died for you alone.
When God sacrificed His Son on the cross, He did it so you could be washed clean. God wants a close relationship with you, so He made a way for your sins to be forgiven and for you to become a member of His family. He did all of this because He values you so much.
Nothing bad will ever come from God. He will never withhold good or pull back from you. He’ll never say, “Not yet,” because today is always the day of salvation. Sometimes other factors are at play—our own beliefs or others’ influence in our lives—but today you always have God’s favour. God’s goodness is at work in your world every day!
You are incredibly valuable to God. Keep meditating on this and develop an unshakable confidence in His love for you!
