This prayer is so powerful. When you pray it, it will change your life and change your world. It's an amazing prayer! And this was made possible by Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago. Back then, humanity had no way to approach God, separated from Him by our sin. When you read the Old Testament in the Bible, you will see this clearly.
That's why God sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, who died for us on a cross. The Bible says that He took our sin—past, present, and future, all of it—and He received the punishment for it. He paid the penalty for everything you have ever done wrong so that He could offer you a gift. This gift is a relationship with God and the opportunity to be part of His family.
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 (NLT)
When you pray this powerful prayer, you are saying, "God, I want to be part of your family, and I accept the free gift that Jesus paid for with His own life, dying and sacrificing Himself in my place." Jesus has qualified you to pray this prayer. You don't have to clean up your life first. Come to Him as you are, and God will accept you because of what Jesus did. Ephesians 2:8 says that God saves you by His grace when you believe; you can't take credit for this because it's a gift from God.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”John 3:16 (NLT)
Once you have accepted Christ as your Saviour, you are now in God's family, and you will be transformed by His power. Holy Spirit makes His home within you, and this gives you courage and power to change in any area of your life. Whether it's bad habits, serious sins, or negative feelings like depression and fear, these things are bondages. God's power within us helps us change our old ways and be more like Jesus. However, it doesn't happen overnight. He helps us overcome the challenges that life brings, and He is with us when we want to solve a problem and helps us emerge victorious.
“Father, I come to you.
I believe that your Son Jesus died for me.
I don’t have to cleanse my life for this free gift.
I don’t have to change on my own.
I come to you as I am to ask for your forgiveness and for you to be the Lord of my life.
I ask that you give me the power to change in every moment, every day, every year, for the rest of my life.
From now on, I choose to give my life to Jesus Christ. It is my desire to follow Him, and I thank you for the free gift of salvation that I receive today.
In Jesus' name, amen."

A good church will teach the truth from the Bible, it will be full of peace, and you will notice an atmosphere of true peace and love. There you will learn who God is, who Jesus Christ is, and how He is the only way to God—and of course, the exciting life that awaits you!
