YOUR ROLE IN GOD'S PLANS

Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed. Psalm 85:10 (NKJV)

Today's verse gives us a powerful look at what happened when Jesus went to the cross. As He took our punishment, God's justice and mercy were fulfilled at the same time. Righteousness and peace became available to us.  

Now under this new covenant, we as believers walk in the incredible power of God. If the heroes of the Old Testament like Gideon, Moses, David and Esther could see us now, they would be in shock at the ability we have. These people had to face lions, giants and evil kings without the nature of God in their spirit. They didn't have direct access to His peace, strength and joy like we now have.  

God's Spirit came upon them at special moments, but they were not reborn people. Deep inside, they still carried the fear and separation from God that entered the world when Adam first sinned. But you and I have undergone an incredible transformation! We now have the nature of God and access to His ability. But to activate it, we must pray and declare His Word out loud.  

This authoritative prayer is a partnership between a redeemed child of God working hand in hand with Him to work out His purposes. And all of those purposes are redemptive. Everything He does is meant to redeem, bring life and turn things around on this Earth.  

Recognize that you have a role to play in bringing God's mercy and truth to people around you. You'll find that partnering with Him brings more purpose and excitement to your life than you can imagine. As you meditate on the Word, declare His promises and follow Holy Spirit's lead, you play a part in bringing about God's plans!
