Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6 (NLT)
The world faces every trial and hardship with fear, anxiety and a negative confession.
Naturally, we all experience sadness when someone we love passes away or something terrible happens. But many people start grieving ahead of time, before anything bad has even happened, as though whatever outcome they’re worried about is already a done deal.
But the more you begin to grow in God’s Word and His wisdom, the less you’ll be afraid of the storms of life.
I remember witnessing this truth first-hand during my wife Sally’s first pregnancy. Early on, the doctor delivered the devastating news that he thought something was wrong with our developing baby. But Sally didn’t freak out. She simply said, “No, this baby will be fine.” And you know what? She was. When we received the identical news with the next pregnancy, Sally responded the same way. Again, our baby was fine. We could have endured months of nightmares, worrying, stressing and grieving. Would it have changed anything? No. But do you know what does change situations? Believing and declaring the Word over the situation. Walking faithfully in God’s wisdom and supernatural peace.
We don’t need to react to storms the same way the world does. Don’t allow fear and anxiety to rule your life. We serve a God who says we are overcomers (1 John 4:4 and 5:4-5) and more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). He says we can handle all things through Christ’s strength (Philippians 4:13). Sink into God’s Word and spend time praising Him daily. It will change the way you walk through storms.
