Put the word into action. If you think hearing is what matters most, you are going to find you have been deceived. James 1:22 (VOICE)
Many believers focus on understanding theology. Now, that’s important, but simply understanding doctrine on an intellectual level without applying it to your heart creates unbelief.
You may read that God has promised you health, for instance, but if you don’t believe that promise belongs to you, you’ll struggle to experience it. What’s getting in the way? Heart beliefs.
To rewrite an incorrect belief, you need to allow God’s Word to touch your heart deeply. As you meditate on the Word, it begins to stick and becomes workable in your life.
Now, this applies to blatantly wrong beliefs like “I’m a loser,” but it also applies to more subtle misbeliefs that can creep in, such as “I’m not cut out to lead.” You may even be operating under a set of beliefs that’s working great for where you are right now but won’t be enough to take you to the next level. For example, you may be married, yet stuck in the identity and beliefs of a single.
God has more ahead of you than you can imagine. Holy Spirit wants to help you establish your identity as you move from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). With Him, you can be a wise master builder (1 Corinthians 3:10), develop dreams for every part of your life and put the Word into action.
And through it all, you can live in God’s rest. Increase may bring new pressures and demands, but you can navigate it all with a sense of undisturbed peace.
