KIDS NEED CHURCH

March 3, 2023

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)

One of the most important things we can do is help a child develop an intimate relationship with God. Sadly, many youth enter adulthood disillusioned and distrustful. Many don’t know what their purpose is because they’ve never heard Jesus’ message communicated in a way that stirs passion in them.

Depression, unhappiness and overall discontentment are symptoms of this problem. More than ever, we need great, life-giving churches. We need leaders who can pass on vision and people who are invested in ensuring that the next generation develops a relationship with God.

Kids need spiritual leadership at home, but they also need church. Kids who stay connected to a life-giving church grow up with a strong sense of purpose, and they learn to put God first. They become less self-centred because they are challenged to be servant leaders. As they rub shoulders with leaders and peers, they learn to grow and become better at what they do, as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

By watching people overcome their offences at church, these kids can learn how to forgive and how to love imperfect people. Through their interactions on a church team, they can learn patience, discipline, loyalty and how to connect with their Father God who loves them.

You can help a child get plugged into a great local church. Do what you can—both personally and by investing in your church and community—to help kids and young people of the next generation to develop passionate, active and intimate relationships with God.
