When people talk about the power and presence of God, many times they are referring to something that takes place at the front of a church. Although that’s wonderful, the church isn’t the only place God shows up.
Jesus and the apostles were filled with the Spirit of God, but the power that exuded from them wasn’t reserved for church services. They walked in that power every day. Not only that, they did it in a way that was contemporary for their time and location.
We can’t just experience God’s presence in church and then go back to unsatisfying, empty lives as soon as we walk out the door. We need to increase our awareness of God’s power available to us in our everyday lives.
This power isn’t just reserved for spiritual things. It also helps you with very natural things in life. So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, know that this spiritual power will help you to not only handle life but to enjoy it to the fullest. God’s strength, power and ability can balance your emotions, increase your creativity and even give you the physical energy you need.
I’m not saying that you don’t need to take care of your mental and physical energy levels. Find things that rejuvenate you emotionally. Laugh often, exercise, eat right and get enough sleep. But don’t forget to fill your spiritual tank as well by spending time with God daily—worshipping Him, talking with Him and reading His Word.
Then, as you go about your everyday life, He will guide and empower you to reach others and live the amazing life He has for you!
