“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins.” Luke 5:37 (NLT)
One way to go to a greater level in your life is to allow God to make changes in you.
Today’s scripture reminds us that if we want to see something new in our lives, we need to change in order to receive it. Being born again is the first step that makes you a new creation. Then you need to let Holy Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes (Romans 12:2).
Something else He does is heal your broken heart. You may not think you’re broken-hearted, but all of us have an orphan spirit before we accept Jesus. Even if you grew up in a great family, there was a gap between you and God the Father, leaving you with a sense of emptiness. The good news is that Jesus heals the broken-hearted.
As Holy Spirit works within you, you are remade. I don’t mean you become unrecognizable, but the Bible tells us continually to put off our old nature and put on our new nature (Ephesians 4:21–24). This process of renewal prepares you for every new level in your life.
Looking back, there were times Sally and I didn’t know where to go. There were doors we couldn’t kick open. But we continued to prepare for the miraculous and believe God for opportunities. As we stayed planted in the Word and it came alive in our hearts, we were changed from the inside out—and often, new things in the physical world would follow.
Let God begin to make changes in you. He wants to bring incredible things into your life as you transform from the inside out!
