The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. Proverbs 4:18 (NLT)
I was a football quarterback in high school. Whenever we got down to the last few seconds of the game and needed points to win, I never chose a player at random to make the final play. I knew exactly who could push through anything and take the ball into the end zone. Most people perform worse when it’s crunch time, but these players thrived under pressure—it drove them to run faster, catch better and score more.
Which kind of player are you? Today I want to begin teaching you how to go greater in life when the pressure is on. If fear or apathy has caused you to hang back, diminish or just hang in there, it’s time to get back into the Word and take a look at God’s vision for your life.
Did you know that every hero in the Bible had to be trained by God to think bigger?
When Abraham was childless, God told him to go outside and count the stars to get a picture of how many descendants he would have.
When Moses was living in obscurity, God spoke to him through a burning bush and commissioned him to lead the entire Israelite nation into a new land.
Then years later when Moses died, God took Joshua and commanded him to be courageous as he took over as leader.
You see, God isn’t interested in maintenance. As a believer, He wants every area of your life to grow and thrive—your marriage, home, health, thought life and finances. When the pressure is on, you can rise up and go greater with Him!
