A POWERFUL PARTNERSHIP

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:17 (NKJV)

When it comes to walking in God’s power, I see many believers getting into one of two ditches.

One side, we have those who are focused solely on faith. They think if they can just believe hard enough or work up enough emotion, God will do more for them.

In the other ditch, people are focused solely on principles. They read the Word to find rules for how to live, thinking if they nail the formula, God will move. Their relationship with God tends to be cold and mechanical.

But the truth is somewhere in the middle. Your relationship with God is incredibly important—and so is following His principles. Faith and action go hand in hand.

You see, there is something God does and there is something you do. God’s role in your life is to bring His grace—which is His ability given to you as a favour. You don’t have to earn it. When you are born again, it becomes yours.

Now, your part is to exercise your faith and take corresponding actions. When you feed on God’s Word, the truth is established in your heart. Holy Spirit teaches you what to believe and how to walk out His plans and purposes. It’s an incredible partnership between you and God.

As a believer, the power of God is yours as a gift. And as you learn to put your faith in His grace, you will receive the life He designed you to live—a life of favour, blessing and building His Kingdom.
